    yes that is what I was thinking, except the black border that frames the center should be a little thinner and the outer border of black should be binding so you would only see about 1/2" of it.

    And if you don't like the Black use a medium green instead for the binding.

    Thank you everyone for looking and responding with your kind words and suggestions. The votes were within 1-2 for all red vs. black/red. In keeping with the Xmas theme, I will go with red for this project. But now I can't wait to do a black and red border for another project. And...I can mix up the gold idea on the next UFO. Can't wait.
