What an heirloom ! I understand why you treasure it besides being from your grandmother !
I counted the plates on the edge and 5 each way make the edge. Interesting -- May try that for a baby first.
    Again - lovely ~

What a beautiful quilt! Please at least keep it out for display, if not to use. I am one that feels that you should use and enjoy quilts. Why save them...for someone else to toss aside or sell, or God forbid, throw away, when you are gone?

Please, USE your beautiful quilt, and feel the love your grandmother put into it. It is being wasted if not used and loved. I am a grandma, and I know!

! What a beauty! I reminds me so much of one my grandmother also made for me (except that mine had yellow instead of pink). I'd post a picture but ufortunately all my grandmother's quilts were stolen from me by some very
unscrupulous movers a few years ago. Waaaaaaaaah! But seeing your beautiful quilt today brought a smile to my face, helping me remember my childhood quilt. Thank you so much for sharing!

Did you ever notice the old dresden plate quilts have a plain fabric in each plate. My sister has one on her bed in the nursing home that she made. I asked her what that meant. she said something about it is supposed to be a handle. I don't know if that is right.
