My condolences on the loss of your husband. Having to be a caregiver for all those years can be physically and mentally draining, it's hard starting a new life after all those years. It's not quite the same, but when I lost my 2nd oldest brother died of lung cancer at 52, I could not attend his funeral, but I worked through my grief by quilting a quilt I had recently made and it helped. God Bless and keep you in his loving arms.

Lovely quilts! I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's passing. I'm sure if you take it easy and ease into quilting again, in time you will be back to doing wonderful work again. As my cousin is finding out (her husband passed 1 year ago), it does take time and the sorrow hits at unexpected times but it does take time to feel like doing things again.

The contrast of colors in the TATW is wonderful. Both quilts are very nice. My condolences on your loss. You have a right to relax and enjoy your quilting.

I too lost my DH in 2006 after 37 wonderful years. I had such a hard time getting back into quilting since he was my cheerleader. ("Whatcha makin'?") Today I am remarried (didn't plan to!) to a lovely widower who really understands, loves and supports me and is a terrible fabric stash enabler which I adore. Just take care of yourself, don't "suffer fools" who try to tell you what you need, listen to that still small voice, pray when you feel lost, and trust in yourself to know what you need and when. All will be well. And, I am still in love with my first husband. It's all possible.
