I think it needs sashing also. But not sure what color would blend into background. Take blocks and audition on fabrics till you find the right on. Great blocks.

I would take a few blocks to my favorite quilt shop and lay them out on fabric to see.

a good way to decide is to choose some material from your stash, and spread it out, then lay your squares on it, leaving a space between each one, say 1 1/2 inches. do this with a few dif colors, and the answer will show itself. beautiful gold colors u have there, so i am thinking maybe a dark blue with gold flecks.
