    Yes, I kinda did. And yes, it seemed backwards to me, too, but I looked at what sizes the scraps were that were already given to me, and I wanted to utilize as big of pieces as possible...so, I debated using 5" squares as the largest (several of the scraps given to me were only 5" wide) but they don't play well with 2.5" squares and I like working with 2.5" squares but not 2.75". Mostly I wanted to utilize as much of the fabric as possible, and by cutting as many pieces as possible first, I decided to try it that way. It was backwards, I know...but not sure what else to do. I needed to see how much fabric I actually had.

    After I cut, I counted and then went to the computer.

    dunster: Very elegant and modern. With EQ, it sometimes help to preview the quilt without the seam and block lines, which are probably what made it look like less white than it turned out. However I think the white is what makes it so wonderful.
    OK...will look for that setting. My knowledge of EQ 6 is very basic. While I've worked through the book, I find that I forget stuff if I don't constantly use it. And I don't have time to constantly use it since I want to learn EMBIRD as well...and sew and do other stuff...

    For example, I have some embroidery blocks done. I would like to randomly place them on a black setting (like a design wall) but don't have a clue how to do that on EQ...but need to try to figure it out.

    I have a bunch of dishpans that hold "Projects In Progress".....they are just the right size to hold fabric and the magazine or pattern....and then I stack them in the corner of my quilting space so when I'm in a mood to work on something different, I can just grab one and pick up where I left off. PS. Found the dishpans at Kroger for $1 on sale a couple of years ago!
