I was told by Janome that other dealers will do the warranty work and the parts will be covered but NOT the labor necessarily. It's up to the individual dealer to decide if they'll do the labor free or not. That's directly from janome.com customer service. Never had to do it yet so don't know how my local dealers would treat me.
