I'm one of the odd ones, as I have never had a UFO until now!! I started a really nice applique bed quilt, which I usually love doing, anyway after 3 blocks I just wasn't feeling the love for this project, so put it away. I found it this week when I was having a sort out of my fabric, guess what, its back in the bag at the bottom of the drawer. Sometimes you just have to leave something so don't beat yourself up, find something new and forget about the old.

I had one that I did the same with, really just the same, couldn't even look at it after a while. I gave it to someone else to finish and send off. I don't know what was the matter with me then, but giving it away and knowing it was going to be used although finished by someone else made me feel better about it. Good luck, wish I could help.

Quilting is my hobby and my fun. I do not want it to become a chore. I pass on things I do not like any more to a wonderful lady who makes them into charity quilts for a nursing home. PM me if you want her address. She lives in Iowa.

You didn't say whether it was the same quilt pattern for all three or
not. I don't know about anyone else but I just plain get bored and lose interest if I'm repeating a pattern so I'm much less attentive to what I'm doing and make one mistake after another.

Here's what you did. ..you apparently wanted to make 3 charity quilts and made 2. Call it great, donate the quilts or tops or whatever, stick the 3 finished blocks into an "orphan top" quilt and go on with life. Don't even think about it again.
It was a charity quilt--are you are under any obligation to make charity quilts? Most of us do them because we want to. If your "want to" has fled, it's fine.
Go on to do something you want to do.

I am in the same boat right now. I am making my husband a quilt from the Civil war era with reproduction Civil War fabrics and have all the squares done. I have to force myself to press the seams and such. After that comes the sashing...UGH! Whenever I think about doing more cutting I go batty! Maybe it is burnout like some others have suggested. Hope you finish your projects soon!
