I don't see how socks get clean if they are rolled tight enough to make it through the wash cycle completely rolled up. I tried that and the inside sock just got wet not clean. Since I got a washer with no agitator I haven't lost a sock. My kids didn't match their socks anyway. Do school kids wear matching sock anymore? I haven't seen any that do.

This has only happened to my one time. I had run a wash cycle, opened the lid to move to dryer and caught one of DH's socks trying to climb over the top of the drum.

Never has happened to me! But then, I never wear socks.

One of my students only wore mismatched socks. On purpose. She had a point...easier, faster,no worry if the set doesn't come through together! Of course, her nickname was obvious, "Socks."

The other day I found a pair of girls underwear size 2 in my dried wash. My grand daughter is 12. Guess the dryer is returning what it stole. LOL

My sister uses large safety pins and pins the pairs of socks together before they go in the washer. No more missing socks! The bonus is that they are already matched up when they come out of the dryer and this saves time too.

Believe it or not, I have found single socks inside the washer AND dryer but outside the tubs' like the socks came out of the tub and into the square housing that holds the dryer tub or washer tub. Only found them because of taking off the back panel for repairs. Have never figured out how they got there.
