Must be a new phone scam.

It is so nice not having a landline anymore!! And my cell phone, I usually can not get to it in time to answer it, or if I do get to it, I can't figure out HOW to answer it. So they can leave a message. It is a Tracfone and I have been getting calls from local numbers I don't know. Finally got the bright idea to send them texts stating that the number has changed owners on Xx date. So they don't keep calling trying to get the previous owner.

previous owner! i got my cell in Colorado and for two years had collectors calling me. well not me. I told them and told them i don't know the man but they kept on. Now several more years later i moved back to Texas and someone is calling again for the same man or family. jeesh.

my daughter and I both had strange scam calls and they changed the language on our phones we could not understand so have no idea what language this did happen at different times and glad my daughter was here when it happened as my phone had to be reset and I do not know how to do that but now I do not answer my phone unless their name shows up and if it is any one wanting me they can leave a message

Presently, the only spam call I get is telling me I can lower my college school loan interest rate. I'm 69, never had a college loan. I signed up at a Travel Agency booth at a Garden and Home show ( mistake) and got spam calls after that with cruise offers. After about 6 calls, I got very angry and told them never, never, never call this number again. Surprisingly, it worked.

It's sad when you can't trust any numbers that show up. Now I"m at the point that I don't trust even if it says it's the bank. I tell them if it's important to send a letter, I'm not talking to them on the phone, or I tell them I"m hanging up and calling my local branch. If the bank is trying to get a hold of you, it will be in your file. Even with call display, I don't trust the listing as it can be spoofed. Generally, I don't answer unless I recognize the number. They can leave a message.

NatalieF that is exactly how I feel and there has been enough going on around here with lots of warnings as AARP was on our tv station one night for an hour telling us about these spams and having people call in and explain theirs so people we know are programmed in our phones and all others even most business people knows to leave a message with a return number so we can call them back we are in a sick world when we cannot answer our phones anymore and by the way that tv station that has RFD on is on Thurs. night at 8 PM mountain daylight time it is one hour with some very helpful info and they also take phone calls
