No you aren't the only one, thats why we laugh so hard, we remember our own. Its good to laugh at yourself. And fun too. Thanks for sharing, we have all been there done that I am sure. Good laugh

my husband is a saint he made me a larger surface that layes on my kitchen table and it doesn't slide. Now I can sit is steno chair and roll around to straighten everything before I start to baste or pin

I used to use the basting gun until I started using the spray. I liked it and it was sooooo much easier than pinning, especially on a larger quilt. I've read where some quilters don't like them because they leave holes, but I never had that problem. You just have to make sure the needle is good, hold the "gun" the right way and shoot the tacks in the seams, when possible. It was a pain cutting all those tacks out, but not any more so than removing tons of safety pins. :-D

please don't remind me....only there were a few pins and then i was 'caught' by hubby that it was stuck to the carpet, he had a good laugh out of that one !!

I recently pin-basted a queen-sized spread on a carpeted floor. Was having the same problem but realized it before I went too far. My solution was to use my folding cardboard that I used to use to pin clothing patterns to. I slid it between the carpet & backing, moving as necessary. Worked for me. The only remaining problem was getting up & down. By the way, I sure enjoy this msg. board!
