My mom gave me my grandma for Christmas

Your Christmas Gift is truly the nicest gift a quilter can receive...such beautiful memories. I would have given anything to have something of my grannies. She was an avid quilter. The day she died, all her quilts disappeared from the house as well as her beautiful dishes. I can still see her sitting at her treadle machine and at her quilting frame hanging from the ceiling.

What a wonderful story. I'm so touched, not only by your grandmother's careful work and your relationship with her, but also by your mother's generosity and thoughtfulness in presenting this gift to you. She knew how important your grandmother was to you. I'm also glad that the quilt wasn't finished, so you can blend your work with hers.

Pass me the tissues........what a touching, beautiful gift! I was so very close to my maternal grandmother. I was given my great grandmother's quilting frame which was purchased in the early 30s, one that you can roll the ends on so it doesn't take up a lot of room. It is one of my favorite family treasures :)

I love hearing these stories. They are so heartfelt and just jam packed with love. What a wonderful gift. And what a legacy. My Mom just passed away last May. And I miss her dearly. Oh Lord I miss her.She told me she was glad that at least one of her kids got her talent for making things. I am so blessed that she taught me.
This is one I just finished the top on. From Momma's dresses
