The only black I have is Amish Black from Keepsake Quilting. It is my favorite and I love to use it for bindings as it makes everything pop.

I use a lot of batiks, and the black just makes them POP!
I have considered buying RAVEN, but it was hard to tell from computer monitor if there was any texture to it. I am making a quilt right now using batiks, with a black leaf textured fabric from DAIWBO. It is stunning.

I haven't seen black batik. I'll have to look for some to make the batik braids pop in a king size quilt I'm working on.

I don't....why pay extra for batik if you don't see a beautiful batik difference?

I'd say it's worth it for the 'hand' the extra thread count gives... plus if it's used in a quilt with other batiks, it's always more beautiful to use the same grade of fabric - though I do mix the two if I feel like it - batik and non-batik. :-D
