Thanks for posting this! Can't you just picture the prim little lady in a shirtwaist dress as she cheerfully sits down to make a ruffled apron?
We had a baby book from when my brother was born in 1949, and it was loaded with advice like this for the new mom.

rofl ummm i sew to escape these conditions i i had to wait til there was nothing to do to sew id still be waiting lol.
my favorite mode of dress to sew in is my pajamas although when i sew with my mil i cant do that as its a 10 mi drive to sew and lord knows i dont want to take a chance of being on the next issue of cops for speeding in my pajamas lol.
