OMG! Yes! When I saw them for the first time I thought it was someone's attempt at being funny, but a picture was in the paper today and it is real. Ralph really dropped the ball on this one. Ralph Lauren is know for tasteful simplicity...not so much on these sweaters.

With all due respect to the talents of Ralph Lauren, I think our reactions indicate that there is a fashion change going on and RL missed it. I liked the comparison to the sweater pattern bought at AQS in 1991.....these sweaters look out of date and way too busy....so, as a positive spin on this, I would say that we are reflecting a simpler, cleaner, less startling set of aesthetics and we can thank the modern quilt movement for it. Even our traditional patterns are "cleaning up" and calming down. We are now far ahead of the designers and can give ourselves a little pat on the back.

Actually, I happen to agree with you Nan. There are ways to celebrate the american tradition of quilting without making quilters wince. I don't think these uniforms do our athletes or the quilting community any favors.

I'm also extremely impressed that Ralph Lauren managed to perform a miracle, in that the clothing was "made in America"!!! In these days when every darn thing you pick up is NOT made in America, it's sure nice to know it can be done..IF..you have the money to do it. The tab is high for the clothing line but in this case it sends a great message.

I like the reference to quilting, although not to my taste either as many of you have written. Agree with needing to pray for their safety. Wonder if this will uptick the quilting bug for many? If so, we need to stock up on fabric, if that happens, prices will surely go up!

I love them. Great that they're made in the USA.

Sad that they did not have a better design choice....AWESOME that they are made in America, but how many people are going to buy and wear them? If they made a better choice it would have been better for the economy.
