I tried rubber bands, but they keep coming off. And also had to turn the pedal over so a flat surface was against the floor. Then my DH glued two strips of the roughest sandpaper available to it. It isn't moving at all. I need to add it's on the carpet not a hardwood floor. You wouldn't want to do that. Well, unless you're trying to refinish that area. Ha

I have mine on a slanted riser, meant for putting your feet on under a desk. That is pushed up against my Bernina 830 Record in the red case- it's not moving. My only problem, though, is the cord is short and I catch my feet on it.

On my laminate floor, I use the rubber shelf liner. Works for me.

Use that mouse pad mentioned earlier, then put a sticky piece of Velcro on that & on the bottom of your foot pedal.If you have a lot of money!! lol!! Nancys Notions sell a Neez-Ez foot Rest, now on sale!! for 28.99. They used to have a wooden one,like that, I gave my husband the picture & he made one..works perfect for me.

I have a storage container underneath my sewing table & it's against the wall. I put my pedal up against the container & it doesn't move because of the wall & the container. The foot pedal for my Juki is quite large though. I purchased a mat for my Bernina 820 & it works pretty well. I like the idea of buying a bathroom rug with the grip on the underside & that will probably do the trick. You also could try that rubberized grip pieces & somehow attach a piece to your foot pedal & that also might work.

If you don't have a corner, just build one. That's what callen did. Rocks?, bricks?, books? anything!
I use a pillow in my sewing room. It is a fairly large pillow, but one that is not too tightly stuffed. (This might be what to do with all those fabric scraps in your wastebasket. Sew up some trash fabric into a pillow case and stuff it.) Make a "dent" in the pillow to accommodate the pedal, push this against the back wall and a table leg or box, and the pedal's not going anywhere.

In my living room I sew at a "gate leg table", the kind with a gazillion legs under it. I found a piece of heavy rug stabilizer and stretched a long narrow piece under two of the legs. It acts like a sling. My pedal sits half on the floor and the half on the stabilizer. I put the pedal just to the right of a leg so I can use my toe to find the leg, press down and there is the power.

I "had" the same problem but since have bought a sewing machine with the stop/start button and I have not even taken the pedal out of the package. I know your frustration as I had that problem. I tried everything - the pedal mat, a car floor mat, that shelf liner stuff, etc. I have a wood floor and nothing seemed to work. Whatever kind of mat I tried would just slide - very frustrating. Hope you find something that works for you.

Boy do I ever agree with that!! I never use the knee lift because I just can't stop myself from trying to control the power instead of lifting the presser foot.

I us that stuff you buy for shelf lining and keeping things from sliding off of tables etc in the RV it works fine on my wood floor.
