I think opening the squishies with all of the I Spy squares is the best part of the swap - going through them bag by bag and picturing them in a quilt!

I bet that is fun. I have never hosted a swap but to me seeing everything before everyone else does would be a blast.

We have a friend that is in her 70's and currently has custody of a 2 yo old girl. Our friend my end up w/her permanently, time will tell. Anyway, I am hoping to make an I Spy quilt for the little girl and giving it too her along w/a doll and a mini I Spy for the doll. I think that will be so fun. I might even make a few outfits for the doll, and some diapers and who knows what else, lol. My DD (22yo today) was never much into dolls, and I didn't know how to sew then, so now I can do it for this little girl.

Sewing doll things is a lot of fun. I made several things for my GD the Christmas before her little brother came.

Here is the diaper pattern I used - made one out of paper until I got it to fit

here is a super easy top for 2 yr olds. It has elastic instead of snaps or buttons for the top so it is easy for them to change their clothes

I just used a baby bib to "wing" a pattern for a doll bib and used velcro on the tabs.

    Have fun!

Sewing for dolls can become addictive .... but lots of fun. I enjoyed doing that for quite a while but the girls grew up and their "toys" became too expensive.

I had fun doing it. Made several receiving blankets and used some of my decorative stitches on them. Rachel was not very interested in her dolls though. Andy got out of the attic a doll cradle he had made for our daughter and gave it to her.
