Deema I think this will be very rich looking when it is finished. I am reading about colour at the moment and I think you would love it more if there was more variation in the value of the colours- the ones you chose are all of similar value (except the white). I would put a pale border and green binding on it to draw out the contrast. I think you will love it when your eye can have a good wander over the whole thing.

I try to finish it. It may take forever to do it but eventually I will get it done.

This has happened to me and I usually end up liking the quilt when it is completely finished.

If you want your blocks smaller, this is not a bad time to do it. Just make a template for the finished size of the block you want, center it on each of the blocks in the rows you have sewn and cut to the new size, then resew and maybe you will like this new size better. Good luck

Does you MIL know you are making a quilt for her? If so you will have to continue.
Even so she would probably love to get a quilt full of love instead of a store bought present.
I would continue and give it to her. You may not love it but I'll bet she will.

I agree that perhaps you are too close and don't see the whole pattern. That is a problem I have had with Warm Wishes. However, if I just take a break from the quilt and do something else, when I come back with fresh eyes, it looks better. Another trick I have for finishing things I really don't like is to limit the amount of time I spend on them. Usually it is just 30 minutes, and then I can do something I do lilke. Somewhere in the middle of the project I either get mad at it for taking so long, or I start to love it and want to see it finished. Either way I make myself get it done so I can relax.

Finish it and you may be surprised at how much you like the finished product. This has happened to me before and once I went ahead and finished it and maybe added a border or stiitcing I did like it was fine,

I really like these quilts and would love the pattern. But to answer your question. I sometimes find that the fabric I like the least makes the quilt. I have never seen a really ugly quilt.
I really like the brown one.

I just love making fast, easy quilts. Sometimes I challenge myself to get them done in record time. That's a great feeling of accomplishment. Finish the quilt and them brag about your speed.
