It's a One Block Wonder, as detailed in the three books by Maxine Rosenthal. Basic cubes are in One Block Wonders Encore, and the interlocking ones are in One Block Wonders cubed. Both of these books also have details and instructions for choosing, quantities etc, cutting and construction of the hexagons, together with visual help, and lots of examples.
