I do both hand and machine quilting. Find hand quilting very relaxing. There are many hand quilters on this board.

Oh my, yes I did hand quilt one. Never again. The seams drove me crazy, plus the woman I quilted it for didn't want to use a contrasting thread. So I did all this work that no one could see.

When I finished, I swore to myself that I would never hand quilt a bargello, or its country cousin log cabin. If I ever make either one, I'm machine quilting them.

I machine piece, but love to hand quilt (and I don't do tiny stitches either). I can watch TV or be companionable in the car or RV when I'm hand quilting, and I really enjoy it. Have been working on a sashiko style piece lately- I want to get it done so I can show you all. It is not like anything I ever did before. I'm also finishing a baby quilt for my granddaughter that has a lot of hand appliques, and an embroidered dedication on the back which I am stitching. (I can't do only one thing at a time!) Keep on stitchin' whatever way works for you is what I say!!

I do my piecing by machine but still prefer to hand quilt. Tried to do some quilting by machine but just didn't like it so I ripped it out and finished it the "old fashion" way.

I machine piece and hand quilt. The only machine quilt I have done is a rag quilt where I sewed Xs in the squares by machine. I love the relaxation of hand quilting.

I would love to do hand quilting but have no idea how. I would love to learn and buying a book would not help because I am a visual learner. Reading directions confuses me. Hopefully one day I can find someone who will have the patience to show me.

I hand quilt only. It is fun to sit and quilt while watching swim practice/meets. Waiting on Mother at the Doctor's office, etc. I just have to remember to have block cut out to take with me.
