Don't like kits. I want it to be all mine, mistakes and all. That's just me, there are lots of folks who swear by kits and are very happy with the results.

I'm finishing a small kit pink/brown that I bought at a non fabric store first time--will show pic when finished.
Friend bought one that has pattern called"Canadian Star"
but I can never find the pattern anywhere else.

I've purchased a few kits from Connecting Threads, one from CraftConn and some other places. They have all had more than enough fabric, and I got to add to my stash too. :)

The one and only kit I bought from my LQS shorted me about a yard and a half on their fabric and when I called they said "oh well, you should have checked first" So I wasn't happy at all with them.

I have never bought a kit. Most of the time they are not in a color way I like. So, I choose my own pattern and my own fabrics.

The kits I have always purchased were from my LQS so all the fabric has been top quality. I like kits because all the colors have been chosen, one of my most difficult parts of the quilting process is picking colors, I have a really hard time with that.

I rarely buy a kit. I like to put my own colors together. Sometimes, I do buy one though and I have been happy with the results.

I like you have a hard time choosing colors, but my best friend is very good at it so I sort of have a built in helper (she is also a quilter). Great friend Huh?

I don't do them often, but on occasion, I too have used Keepsake Quilting, and Connecting Threads

I look at them in the catalogs, and end up thinking, "I can make a prettier one than that." Until I came upon a table runner kit from Jenny Byers. Her fabric is so beautiful, but always intimidates me, being fairly new at quilting. I just couldn't resist that kit. It just came and the colors are glorious! I can hardly wait to make it. The anticipation and the visual beauty are worth the cost even if I mess it up! LOL
