I think I need about 8 more blocks. Anyone else notice the further along we are the better the stars look? Or is it just me? I split that darn California block in two to use on the edges. It was an improvement

Mom was pretty needy yesterday, it took about 6 hours to get one pinwheel inserted into the four blocks.

I've been making string blocks from the green trimmings, not sure they will work as an outer border or not. I think they would need to be offset by a thin background border and then go on.

Beautiful. I think you are working overtime on caring for your Mom and doing the stars, too. DH is enough to care for as I am working through trying to do too many things all at once...just doing my best I can. That's all any of us can do.

Beautiful Kalama! I understand with your mom, some days are better than others. Mine had Alzheimers for about 8 years.

Kalama, your blocks are looking beautiful!! The quilt is going to be stunning.

My sweet 87yr. old Mother moved in with us last week. She was in the hospital with the beginnings of Pneumonia but is much better now but we feel she can't live alone anymore. She was not eating very much on her own so we invited her to live with us and luckily we have a guest bedroom. We have always gotten along and we still do. It is taking a little adjusting to but I think all will work out.

I hope this week to get myself back into my craft room and continue to work on the blocks.

Kalama that looks beautiful. I love the setting you're doing and think the border looks fine like it is. Wow--that's a lot of work!

Here is my Florida block for this week, I think it is the one I am supposed to post,

Kalamaquilts, OMG your quilt top is drop dead gorgeous, what a stunning layout. Are you blocks 12 inches, it will be a huge quilt. I thought I had a pretty good layout planned but mine is just plain boring now will have to go back to the drawing board...

I keep looking at all these beautiful blocks thinking "why didn't I use those colors?". I love them.
