Thank you Janice for the anniversary wishes we had a lovely afternoon visiting the gardens, driving through the country side and going out for seafood. Congratulations on your anniversary!
Two blocks today. Cheesehead hope you are open for another Christmas tree, I added the gold to match one of your other blocks that had gold in it. Second block is for Susie Q, loved working with these colors.
Funny thing, I was interrupted after finishing one side of the tree trunk. Came back and couldn’t find the piece for the life of me. After looking everywhere I sat down frustrated at my sewing machine and there it was hanging off the back of the machine.

Well, I finished TravelingGramma’s block. It’s called falling star. But as I am looking at it in the picture I realize that my plan was to use as little of her fabric because I didn’t want to run short. But as I’m looking at it I can make a couple of adjustments and have a balance of the stars in the block. I’ll let you all see it, but it might not look the same when Janice posts it over to the album.
Janice please don’t post this as it is gonna change now that I’ve seen it in print. Thanks!

Don’t you like it Terri when you’ve had enough anniversaries that you can do something that isn’t actually coordinated to the date. We do that many times. This year we might go to Tenn later in the fall, we didn’t do anything in May except a bushel of doctor appointments. And my slowness has caused me to miss out on making Cheesehead a Christmas tree. I was diagramming it the other day when I saw the first one. I said oh, two is not too many.. 3 might be. Gotta go catch up on the WNBA basketball game, hubby keeps hollering at me. Our Indiana Fever are playing.

Happy Anniversary Terri, and Janice (belated)!
Great blocks, Terri. That tree is too cute! Love the one for SusieQ, too. It’s one of my favorite blocks.
The Falling Star block is cool, GramE. To me it reminds me of a medal. Can’t wait to see it in its second incarnation.
I got another two lap quilts made, based on Walkabout, but without the chevrons. I put a big 4patch in between the focus fabrics, rather than the chevrons. I’m going to have a whole lot of stippling in my near future.

Terri, thank you for the beautiful Christmas tree block, I love it! Your block for Susie is so pretty, and the fabric you chose to go with it.
GramE, please don't change your mind on making me a Christmas tree, I find having several will balance out the design of the quilt, having 4 blocks with the same theme makes it easier for placement.
Today I am going to a "lunch and learn" at the clubhouse for a Quilts of Valor presentation. I'm hoping to get involved in this organization and would love to make quilts for our veterans.

Cheese, your lunch and learn sounds interesting. I hope to have similar opportunities through the guild I joined. Enjoy.
SBG, you are amazingly prolific in your quilting. Two more quilts done? Wow.
The star is spectacular but I won't post it yet.
Terriamn, love your Christmas tree and your block for SusieQ. I once lost an f8 in my sewing room and it has never turned up. I keep expecting to find it in my bins but it is gone. That was over 10 years ago!

Thank you for the reminder that we do have time to finish the blocks for this fall Boom. It seems thing just keep jumping in and disrupting my plans to make blocks. Like fleece pillow covers for a missionary to take to Guatemala on Monday morning. Yikes! Just got them today and will be done ASAP.
Quilt retreat is in two weeks and I plan on taking just WIPs and UFO's. No new projects!!! I will likely include several unfinished Booms in my collection of WIPS.

Like WMU I'm having issues getting blocks made! Since we returned there has been a lot going on. But I'll get there...........
Happy Anniversary, Terri and Janice!!
Terri, I love my block. Thanks so much!
One of my cats needs an attitude adjustment. He keeps hogging where I sit
The darling boy is really Paul's cat. He looks to me for several duties and just to get me annoyed. But I love him to death anyway.

Janice, I should have said I finished two tops… they are not quilted yet. I have 6 of these now, super simple patterns. They are large lap quilts for donation. That’s why I mentioned there would be lots of stippling in my future! Thanks for thinking I am prolific!
We are getting some rain today, thank the Lord! We’ve been in a drought for many weeks, which is bad this time of year, while we still have hot weather. Wish it would rain rain rain and then cool down.
Hope everyone is having a good week.

To all Roses, relax. You have months ahead of you to finish. It’s meant to be fun and if rushing isn’t fun for you, take your time!
SBG, two tops are still a commendable accomplishment.
SusieQ, you must realize by now that you must bow to a feline’s wishes and desires. It’s in their contract. I, of course, never have to deal with this since I have a dog. Ha! Below is where Ernie has commandeered my old sewing room chair as you can see below.
Speaking of my old chair, I’m sitting in it now, looking at my design wall. I’ve got my Spring Boom 31 blocks on the wall. I made easy alternates. The picture of it is below. You can see it extends beyond the capacity of the wall onto the floor. These blocks were not meant to make a quilt this big until the Guild said they needed some twin sized quilts for a local charity. I haven’t finalized the Boom block layout and I may add a border. I just finished the alternate blocks. I have three more blocks which will be added to the back. I think I’ll put it all together and hope to quilt it on the LA as my first project with the easiest pattern I can find. It should be “a great learning experience” as my husband loves to say. Thank you to everyone who made blocks for this soon-to-be top. (That’s one of Ernie’s beds in the corner. When I’m in here, he’s usually in the bed.)
