Funny., today I was at JoAnn's and found two beautiful quilt blocks that were folded up together and probably laid on a shelf while someone was looking at somethng and forgotten. They were lovely batik blocks. I put them in my cart and when I went through the checkout I gave them to the cashier in hopes they would call or come back to get them.....to think other people would steal.

I believe in what goes around comes around. Someday these ladies will be the victim of some crime, like a theft or worse and will probably say "why me".

I had the same thing happen at Macy's.
I purchase an arm full of clothing, when I went out the door the security alarm went off.....I turned and looked at the clerk, she said she must a missed a sensor. So after going through all my pieces, she said....Did someone else go through the door with you. I said there was a lady standing there looking around, then went through the door next to mine at the exact same time. She said, she was a thief...that is just one of the things they do.
You are right, it costs us all.

Our Joann's now has laminated cards hanging where the Olfa rotary cutters and blades belong. You have to take the card to the register and they get the cutters for you. Must have been a few of them "walking" out of the store!

This same thing happened to me at Walmart, one year at Christmas time. There was a man and woman hovering near the door, acting like they were looking in the donation bin. I had a cart full of purchases and as I approached the door the man and woman went through the door just in front of me. As I passed through the door the alarm went off  so I turned right around to have my bags checked. Nothing was found and I passed through the door again and the alarm didn't go off.

As I walked to my car it occurred to me that the man and woman, at the door, were probably stealing something hidden in their coats, (they didn't have any bags) and they used me as a distraction when the alarm went off. Now I am a little wiser and I'm suspicious of anyone waiting to go out the door at the same time as me.

Thanks for the heads up.
