I had the bright idea that if I used my zipper foot to sew a rag quilt together I could get really close to the batting.
Well, I also got 'really close to the needle'. I was going through the intersecting seam of the 4-patch and my hand slipped off the seam and I sewed right thru my finger next to the nail. BUT, when I jerked my hand, I bent the needle at a 90 degree angle and tore out the side of my finger!
So, don't be tempted to use the zipper foot for the rag quilts ... bad idea!

sigh... yes... but a different kind of frustration... almost snipped the pad of my thumb off while attempting to snip a simple thread... 6 stitches later, I was fine... and humbled...
