Gee maybe we should start a movement. get your LQS to start issuing QUILT STAMPS and get so many for purchasing so much. Then fill your book and get some fabric and supplies!

Yes, I remember that, it was me and my sister's job to put them in the book, little one and then the big ones where 10 value...when we got alot of books, we would walk down to the store and look around to pick out what we wanted....like Christmas shopping..pots and pans, mixers, etc.

Yep, I remember! Does anyone remember getting baby items in the detergent boxes...shirts, diapers, etc?

I remember them well. Not only did I stick them in the book for my Mom, but as a young bride I collected them too. I got our first vacuum with them. I also got a "silver" tray. I don't know why I thought I needed a silver tray at that point in my life, but I still have it.
I also remember dishes packed in laundry detergent. I collected the whole set. I also remember books being sold in the supermarket> I collected all of the Womans Day cookbooks. They are set up like encyclopedias. Still use them too. This must mean I am ancient. lol

Just read the post suggesting quilt stamps, several LQS have punch cards that when they are filled, you get a discount.

Goodness, I hadn't thought about green stamps, gold bond stamps etc for years. Used to same them and traded them in for lots of "stuff". One grocery store gave them out and we always shopped there.
Also when we filled with gas we would get dishes. or towels.
Anyone remember getting dishes in laundry soap? I still have my mothers set. We had lots of laundry with 5 boys in the family. A plate, cup, saucer, lunch plate, or dessert dish came in each box. What fun opening the box to see what was inside this time. I must have been about 4 or 5 years old when I got to look in the box first.
Memories!!!! or maybe that just dates ME!!! grin

"Highly" seasoned. But maybe that's better than under seasoned.
