A friend of mine makes chemo caps and adorable caps for premies also. She takes hers directly to hospitals and they are so grateful & they do not critize, just accept with gratitude. I agree rudeness is just plain unacceptable and some people just think there way is the only way, I would not go back there either.

I help care for a 93 yr old and find she has no filter!! LOL, don't let the "ladies" irritate you. Know you are doing fine charity work. I've had people explain mitered corners to me a few times. Every time I get ready to bind a quilt I go back to the tute. Still not sure it's right... but hey.... I don't think it will fall off.... so all's good!

Gives the term 'butt out' a whole new meaning, doesn't it. LOL!

{{{Hugs}}} I understand your pain. I joined a group of ladies and it took at least a year for me to work my way into the group. Stayed with it because one lady knew me from work years ago and was very nice to me. Another was a family friend since 2nd grade or something on my DH side. Now, I am glad I hung in there. A beginner it was a struggle to keep my chin up, now 5 years later they ask me how to!! They are all dear wonderful folks each with their own unique gifts & weaknesses. I love them all dearly, now. Took time & patience.
Sharon Schumler has a you tube video that shows how to use Elmer's glue to hold the binding down, then you iron it, then stitch. This was so helpful for me. Now, I can do binding without the glue and it looks great, but it did take practice & patience. Can use glue from bottle it comes in. Don't have to buy her tool.

My reply was long so....
Baby hats at the hospital near me were rejected by the nurses due to being too small. I have to take those to a hospital with a NICU. Size of a walnut is appreciated by the NICU or anything larger. You may want to check with the local hospital for their needs. Ladies may not have an accurate picture of what the nurses actually need for the little ones.
Our hospital loves the blankets & hats. I took red, white & blue blankets & hats from our group yesterday for 4th of July! Persevere, it is worth it! The babies and their families as well as the nurses know God's love when you take these gifts from the heart. You are doing HIS work. Don't be discouraged!!! Go, girl!!

Just keep thinking about how good the recipients are feeling because you care enough to make them something! The people who are receiving your gifts are smiling because of you.....so smile on the inside and if someone critizes you just smile at them....it will drive them crazy!

HUGS to you! Thank you so much for making the hats for preemies. I knit hats for preemies for our local hospital. I got some sizes = pounds from a computer site using "crocheted/knitted" hat patterns for preemies as a subject on Google. There are hundreds of patterns but I just needed the sizes for each set of pounds. Our NICU takes all sizes and I make several sizes. Babies have different sized heads just like we make different sized hats. Maybe some of the ladies at the senior center aren't making them the "correct" size. The size = pounds list would at least give you some ammunition to confront them in a nice way.
