Happily divorced here. Now divorced longer than I was married (divorced 27 years -- married 22)
Quilters are a diverse group... not sure if we could perpetuate any stereotypes even if we wanted to. LOL!

could the marriages last because quilting teaches us patience, to overlook little imperfections and appreciate the little scraps of affection we get sometimes?? I'm now a widow after almost 37 years of marriage

My first husband drove me to quilt! I used it as therapy till I could lose him. Finally did that. Now I have the most perfect husband. He waits and waits and waits while I drool over yarn, fabric, birds. Sorry no clones available, on back order though!

I totally agree with you. I have always worked because I am 18 years younger than he but he was my hero and inspiration. He encouraged my quilting, even bought me a long arm quilting machine but often teased about all the fabric I bought. After he passed away my machine went untouched and sometimes I couldn't bare to even look at my stash. Now I am taking classes again and getting back to it and find I even love it more because of his encouragement and patience.

My guess would be that hobbyists in general stay married longer , etc..
Makes sense to say that those who derive pleasure from many places are generally happier people. That could mirror itself in relationships.
