Carollady, Thanks so much for the explanation of your sewing process. I get it!!! And I know, too, the frustration of trying to maneuver the bulk of your quilt between the needle and the machine!! I have this saved so I can refer to it when I actually start my denim quilt. I really appreciate your willingness to share your expertise!!!

Thanks for the compliments and comments.
Shorebird - Sorry but I have never heard of Fons and Porter so no never used the pattern from them. Yes the inside are from flannel shirts, my dad's, my ex's and my sons flannel shirts. Thanks again
Carol

Wow! I just love your positioning of colour and patterns to make the heart and sorround.
This is definite one to put on the to do list. Thanks so much for sharing.

What a great quilt! Was it hard working with the heaviness of denim?

Thank you. No it wasn't hard but it was a little tricky until I figured out a better way of doing it. And it isn't really a soft and cuddly quilt because of all the stitching on it. But I did enjoy making it and getting the heart shape in the quilt like I wanted it to be.

Would it be possible to just do a straight stitch near the edges instead of the zig-zag? I know it wouldn't look as neat though...

I tried the straight stitch when the zig zag went out on the sewing machine. I didn't care for how it looked. To me the zig zag stitch is more forgiving.. lol But you can try it and see what you think. I did make one circle with a square in the middle and did kind of a test to see what it would look like with the zig zag stitch before I started the whole quilt.

It still looks fantastic - and it's nice having all kinds of quilts available. With this kind of winter we've been having, a super heavy one would be so welcome!
