Finished the Morning Star block today and also the other one. I sure overcame on the morning star. That will be one block I will be very unlikely to make again! It actually came out pretty good - much to my surprise as I had to unsew quite a few times. Started step 2 of the mystery quilt also. Moving right along.

It's late Thursday evening, and was wondering if I'm crazy for even trying this so soon. Making quilted totes is usually for the intermediate to experienced in quilting only. I have only been quilting about 9 months, but I feel like if I studied a pattern long enough I could learn. Are there any special tips to follow? I'm very serious about this. I WILL learn, even if it kills me. Because I am starting my business late in life, I'm determined to make a go of this. I've even purchased a pattern for a tote bag. Should I give it a try or wait a while? Opinions please.

I think you should go for it. Totes can't be as hard as some dress patterns or even some block patterns. You will overcome any obstacles I am sure.

Go for it! Follow the pattern carefully step by step. I'm betting that you will do just fine and be pleased with the result.

Hey! Go for it! I make totes. Can't sew a lick as far as making clothes, ect. But love making quilts, totes, purses (simple ones) ect.

Not sure if it was wonky to begin or if I had stretched it out of shape. And probably most important, using my new Janome 1600P instead of my little Brother.
Darling quilt! May I please ask how you manage to quilt around all those pins?
