I thought that most Wal-Marts did not carry fabric anymore. Whenever I see a Wal-Mart, I stop, but theyhave mostly replaced fabirc with paper stuff like invitations, party stuff, etc. Some online websites for buying (I like to feel fabric howeve-sooo_,)Joann has sales online. And I like to check out the daily sales at fabric.com. Thanks so much for the other sites.

VaNella, I always buy fabric from one of my local quilt shops. I believe in supporting them and the fabric is high quality. Joann's is fine for notions but there fabric just doesn't do justice to all the work that goes into making a quilt. The shop owners deserve our support, if they don't get it they will close. I have seen that happen in our community. peterparley

Just bought from thousands of bolts and was very pleased. Also Connecting threads, and keepsake quilting. I am near the amish country and they have some great shops and reasonable prices. Happy quilting

I buy from several places. I've found wonderful deals at Craft Town in Salem, IN, Stitch N Frame in Vicksburg, MS, Whittle's in Smith's Grove, KY, and Quilts R Jewels in Hartford, KY. Those are the places I find my greatest bargains. I do sometimes order from Yoder's (an Amish owned shop in Shipshewana IN) The Stitching Post in Washington, IN, Thousands of Bolts, Fabric.com, etc. I'm always looking for the proverbial bargain, but I prefer good quality fabric from a quilt shop. You can tell by the feel of the fabric when it's the "good stuff." I check out clearance and sales online all the time.

Also Lorraine fabrics in Pawtucket RI, you have to do more searching, but they have TONS of fabric.
So if you are ever in RI. Check them out. Only 1 of our Walmarts (Plainfield Pike) that I have found, still has a fabric dept.
