Iknow my stash is at least a picup truck load. My sisters mother inlaw was 81 when we went thru her stuff and she only bought at LQS It took us two truckloads.!!! It seems she didnt sew too much (she does quits etc) but she just loved looking at fabrics and the feel of them. I had a huge sale twice at my home. It took a while to measure it but
it was definbeitely worth the effort!!!! It took me longer because she had alot of Thimbleberries kits etc that had to be matched up and measured again just to make sure it was all there. Also she had a ton of books and some fabrics were all bought together so I tried to match fabric to quilt patterns.
I would for sure check it out - The poor guy just needs to be rid of it so he can move and probably has no idea what its worth!!! My husband would have no idea lol

The first thing I would want to do is look it all over and I mean all of it. Then I think I would haggle over the price, 1400 seems a little high to me. How long has he had it and where is it coming from?

I would buy it in a minute if it were cottons and sell it on ebay, or sell it to you guys, he obviously has no idea what he has, even at 1400 is not a bad price depending on what is in those storage containers. I say go for it, this only happens once in a lifetime.

I skimmed through all these, but his wife was a hoarder. Was she really a hoarder or just a fabric nut? That's quite a lot of fabric.
If you are seriously considering buying it I would come up with a plan that doesn't depend on others to buy it or help you sell it. That would be quite the undertaking. Buy it for your own reasons, which should be that you want to buy that much fabric. It probably won't be the "dream come true" you envision. One persons definition of the mother lode is anothers nightmare.
