One of the biggest differences I've found in WM and the LQ shops is price. I rarely ever go into one of our LQS because of the "snotty" attitudes there...I have bought lots of material at one local LQS and WM and Mary Jo's in Gastonia, and Hancocks. We don't have JoAnns or Hobby Lobby here locally.

So glad to hear that. Hope we get ours back. When you are there admiring their fabric, think of us who are still out. :D

    My Brain is numb now

I just came back from Walmart, and now I know why I don't go there. I got some extra money this week, cuz we're short man power at the assylum, and I got that fabric itch. There's a Walmart about a mile away from the Joanns I conveiniently plannned on going to, so I decided to go there first to see if they had fabric.
    The short answer is yes.
The long answer is good luck getting it.
All total, I got 28 yards of fabric, and 2 yards of Pellon [gonna try this applique thing] that I cut myself for $69 and trust me, NONE of those yards were short.

I was in the Sherman, TX Walmart this morning and I noticed they were beginning to fill their fabric shelves! Glad to see it coming back! The highest I saw was $5.44/yd.

Our Walmart hasn't restored their fabrics either. Perhaps I should print the pictures of these that have and give the pictures to our manager. Think that would help us way out here in West Texas about 100 miles from ANY fabric store? Then only 1 Walmart, 1 Hobby Lobby and 1 quilt shop, 20 miles more and 1 Hancock's. Would love to just frequent the LQS, but after that distance, I generally go to HL or WM, after paying $4.00 a gal for gas, have to save money where I can. We have so much oil & gas down here and our prices are some of the highest in the U.S.

I was at a local Wal-Mart over the weekend and they too were clearencing out the pre-cuts and had started putting in the bolts again. That makes 3 fairly close. Now, if only the one closest to my home would get it back, I would be set. (The worker in the crafts dept. said she is hoping we will get fabric back there, but she don't think we will because the manager is against it).
