Patty, you have a real talent for design. Are these purses the bow tuck pattern with the ends not tied in? What did you use to make them stand up so nice?

Judy
Thank you, Judy.....Yes, I use the Bow Tucks pattern but I do change it up a little. Gosh, I don't do anything different to make them stand up....they just do!!!! I do iron them well!!!
This is adorable!

That's what I'd like to know. I've been looking for a freebie, but no luck yet. Maybe just use a standard tote pattern and add a pocket on the front and ties on the side?
Most LQS carry this pattern!!!

I think the fusible batting stuff makes it stand up along with the flat bottom.

Do you spray them with scotch guard to keep them clean?

It's called the Bow Tucks Tote designed by Penny Sturges for Quilts Illustrated. They also make a Mini Bow Tucks....which is just slightly smaller.

I've made tons of other bags, using fusible fleece as a stabilizer. If they get dirty, I machine wash them on the gentle cycle and then hang to dry. After that I press them back into shape. I've never had a problem with them falling apart, and they look just like new.
