What sewing/quilting bad habit have just never been able to break?

I sew over pins sometimes, it depends what my project is. I always use the pins with a small shaft. I feel the worst you can do is bend the pins or break a needle, I have never hurt my machine because of it. Sometimes I feel it is necessary to sew over the pins to keep the hems and points in place. I don't worry about ruining my machine, I'm not afraid to use pins when necessay.

I sew over pins - that was taught in Home Ec. in high school was OK.
I cannot handquilt with a thimble.
My pointer & midddle finger on right hand and
middle finger on left show the results (nice callouses).

Waiting too long to change rotary blades, keeping my machine as clean as possible, squaring up as I go along, and putting pins in my mouth.
I am really working on these, especially the pins in the mouth issue, because I am teaching my great niece how to quilt and don't want her to pick up these bad habits!

I think my worst one is putting pins in my lips to hold them a minute. I have always done this and do it unknowingly.
Oh and also engaging my brain into what I am doing after taking a break. Boy, you can piece a ton of blocks wrong in a short amount of time chain piecing.

Gee, I just started sewing again and I find that I am very slow and very conscious of what I am doing. I think I will probably pick up some of these habits. (sigh) Right now I use my rotary blade too long. Also I do have to remind myself to clean the machine after each project. The problem is I am sewing several projects at one time so I don't know where the finish line is. LOL.
