Omg that is beautiful----any suggestions for a novice handquilter who wants to learn? Did ulearn by videos, classes or self taught?
I am completely self taught. At the time when I started hand quilting 23 years ago there were no videos or classes here in my area. I learned from books and by trial and error. The only suggestion I can give is to find your own way of quilting, find the notions that works for you and practice, practice, practice. One thing still helps a lot: I don't have to spend much time on piecing the tops and finding the right fabrics. I can focus on the hand quilting!
Andrea, you surely picked the perfect name "Borntohandquilt" for the QB, because your work is exquisite! I am in awe and not even slightly surprised that your fabulous quilt won awards!
I would love to live next door to you --would love to watch you hand quilt and perhaps learn something from you. You do the most beautiful hand work EVER.
