There are some catagories within these goals
    1. *UFO
    2. *Deminish purchasing
    3. *Deminish stash
    4. Charity quilts
    5. *Use scraps
    6. Learning a new skill
    7. Material/started quilts gifted to us by friends/family
    8. Make a labor of love for friends/family/self
    9. Get better/learn FMQ
    10. EPP & PP
    11. Get more organized
    * Have threads in "Challenges" where quilters are encouraged, post triumphs/oops, get to know each other, have accountability & laugh. I know this because I'm a frequent flyer. Sometimes we feel like we're the only person with this challenge. Usually there's at least 1 other person. As per BB, there is nothing new under the sun. Maybe a dedicated thread would help with Charity Quilts, FMQ or other.

Want to complete a Applecore quilt that I started with homespuns.
Want to use up scraps and get them into quilts
Have a quilt kit purchased two years ago that I want to get started on.
If I can reach these goals, I will add more goals for this year.

This thread is inspiring. My list is not complete but coming together:

    1. finish UFOs
    2. clean and organize sewing room
    3. do a project from a book I bought previously before buying a new book or pattern
    4. learn video editing software

This will be a year of big changes—I’m retiring, moving to a new state and brand new house, and my quilting goals are:

    1. Do the quilting on Full Bloom (the top is finished and layered, and I will soon be starting on this.)
    2. Finish the 12 Days...er, Years...of Christmas Quilt I started well over 12 years ago. It was fun up until about 8 maids a milking...but I’m overwhelmed by the 9 ladies dancing, etc. But it WILL be done, because there’s a excellent wall in the new house for displaying quilts!
    3. Use up scraps making gifts/donation items (hoping our new church will have an annual craft sale fundraiser like our old one did!)
    4. Make DD an “end of High School” t-shirt quilt. The shirts are cut...just need to get them backed and put it together.

    Happy New Year to all!

hray...you are doing the reverse...retiring in the north? Enjoy the Upper Midwest!

I chatted with my oldest GS today about a college quilt...he's a junior. He doesn't want a t-shirt or denim quilt..."just a quilt Gma" he told me. So I can pull anything out of stash right? Ha Ha don't think he will go for pastels or flowers...oh I have a bunch of homespun scraps that may just fit for him. And I could bet flannel for the back...love flannel to add extra coziness...may have enough of some in stash, too. He will be the first of 13 grands that begin a cascade of graduations so I have to get on this!

Here are my (quilting) goals for 2019. Finish some things that I have already started, try to limit most fabric purchases to sale items, make a baby quilt for my first grandchild due in June.

    Make a quilt for ME!

Started quilting in 2018 and I really love it. So everything is new to me. I bought comic book boards to store my fabric on (read that tip here) and whoa! It's looking beautiful! So getting my sewing space organized and finding tools that work has been fun too.

I was lucky enough to have a baby lock long arm fall into my lap. Used, and a really good deal. At the moment it's just intimidating me as I have not one clue how to use it. So that will be my BIG on my list this year. Learning how to FMQ on this beauty.

HoneyJ...what fun. I too have a new to me BL LA. Mine is a Crown Jewel...very basic and cannot do computerized quilting with it. I just want to have some fun after wrangling big quilts under my DSM. I can meander easily and have done loops as well. I think I'm about ready to start on...gasp...feathers! Keep us informed as to how you are doing.
