Aw shoot, you guys guilted me into embroidering up some labels today. I hadn't put my stamp on the last two quilts I made. But sometimes I don't want my name on them! LOL!

Well, I'll vouch for Shelly...she really is pictured in her avatar! She lives 40 or so miles from me and since we live out in the boonies of eastern Washington, she's considered a neighbor!!! And she is a great LA quilter too, willing to share her knowledge and expertise with others. She isn't the quilt police, but the QPs wouldn't visit her <grin>

I was admiring a quilt at the Sister's Show that was pieced fairly simply but had a neat story to tell on the embroidered blocks of where the family or individual had been stationed in the military. Two of the Quilt Police Guild wandered, no stomped, up and sniffed and pointed out that it was not done "right" because it had MACHINE EMBROIDERY on it!

I couldn't figure out why the machine piecing and quilting didn't bother them, just the machine embroidery.

You will find used books at Amazon.com or just type the author's name into your search engine and a list of booksellers and unbelievably low prices will appear like magic. froggyintexas
