I couldn't figure out why the machine piecing and quilting didn't bother them, just the machine embroidery.
Yeah, it's funny how some QP think everything should be done without the help of a machine - of ANY kind. I remember a lecture at the historical society several years ago by a local quilt historian, who said that after sewing machines came out, only the wealthy women could machine stitch, so women all pooled their resources to buy a communal machine, so they wouldn't seem poor. Throws another light on this 'everything should be done by hand' stuff! :)

One of these days I'll be arrested for cruelty to quilts. Since, I use push pins to hang up my quilts and I'm too lazy to put on hanging sleeves.

Also, I'll be locked up for poor identification. Just can't get those finishing touches, like a label on the quilt.
Make your hanging sleeve your label and take care of both at once!

I remember, years ago, I was the quilt police. When I met a man and we were dating, the man that ended up being my husband worked constrction, drove a Chevy van, and in the back he used a quilt his Grandma made to wrap his tools in. I saw it and immediately took it, cleaned it up, and told him if we broke up I'd give it back.
    We've been married since 1981
