they are pricy I prefer Joanne's they have better sales. The Hobby Lobby near me has some great fabrics (even quilting fabrics) but there sales do not inspire me to buy there often. I check em out cause they are close to the Joanne's store I frequent(more like haunt LOL) Joann's has coupons that I get in the mail.

Our Hobby Lobby has mostly quilting cottons, but some other fabs as well. The quilting cottons are always 30% off, but if you have the 40% coupon you can take it off the original price of the fabric, so 40% off instead of 30% off.

The problem with their selection is that it never changes. When they finish a bolt, they just get more of that same fabric. They have exactly the same fabric seletion they had three years ago-- HO HUM... And the fabrics are easily spotted by people who shop for fabrics at HL, because we've all seen it before. The quality of most of it is good, but I don't understand why they don't buy different fabrics, at least every 6 months or so.

Keep an eye out on www.hobbylobby.com
If you go to store locations on the website, it will tell you where the new stores are opening in 2011.

The new stores are suppose to have scanners this year. The older stores will have them as updates are added.

The coupon is in the local Sunday paper or online. There is a coupon each week, but not always 40% off any one item.

They have also started shopping online. The coupon can be used online too. Sometimes they offer reduced shipping. You just have to check the website each week.

I have worked for HL for ten years. I think you will see some amazing changes over the next two years. Keep looking!!!

Mr. Green has an interesting story. You can access it on the website too.

PS- We have gotten some new calico and some new apparel fabrics in the last couple of weeks. With inventory over and spring coming, there should be some more new "stuff".
I am glad I don't have to decide which fabric to carry and how much to buy. My poor little mind couldn't handle that. I have enough trouble just picking out material for a doll quilt!!
