I love the old patterns too. Here in the U.K it is almost impossible to find really small, pretty prints,or feedsack patterns.Everything seems bold and bright. It's not just me that has this prblem,I belong to a group who find the same.As to the increase in cotton prices, well I started out using 'found fabric' and taught my first class techniques derived from the past.Perhaps we should go back to that idea. Love Letty

I like the traditional quilt patterns, too. Done with the newer fabric prints, they turn out looking fresh and not so old-fashioned.

Yes I like the old ones and some of the new. I am not experienced enough for the landscapes but one thing at a time. Sew many quilts, so little time. LOL

Thank goodness, we are all different. It would be boring if all our quilts were just alike. I enjoy the older patterns and I love scrap quilts but I enjoy seeing all different colors and patterns too.

You are not the only one that loves traditional. Even us art quilts have an appreciation for their beauty

You just know how to live right. I think the older patterns were better as they made recycling possible and beautiful.

I also like the older patterns in quilts. They are comfort quilts because they remind you of family.

Also, I love bright colors, mostly reds, yellows and blues, and small print, like Calicoes, not huge florals.
So, am I just an old soul,or are there others like me?

    Am rather llike you.

I am with you ~ Old school so to speak. Although I do appreciate the talent and creativity and work that goes into the newer designs just prefer the more traditional for myself.

    Hi,
I guess I am an old soul too. I like to think about making the older patterns, but admire those with the creativitty and skill to design anad make the newer types. That is why quilting can be for everyone.
