I have learned so much about doing quilts with panels by doing this thread. I have seen some beautiful quilts and I thank you all.

I think your log cabins around this quilt are stunning!! I have some pheasant panels, am thinking I may need to borrow this idea!! Great job!

I really like working around a panel. I made this table runner and hand quilted it.

I was at our fair the other day, and a very nice lady had quilted nothing but panels (not much quilting either and not overly fancy). I was shocked at the prices (but good for her), a panel that I purchased for myself at the LQS for $7.95, she was selling for $27 Granted it was sewn with backing and lightly sid quilted but no borders and no binding. I was amazed. Some people were even buying. I just never thought of doing something so simplistic with those beautiful panels. I think I tend to over complicate things.

I don't think of it as cheating, it is just another art form of quilts. I did one for a child because I wanted it to be used and washed. If it gets messed up, it is OK, I will make her another one. I have one I did a lot of applique on and I will give it to her when is a bit older. Still the quilts you spend a lot of money and time one are really for heirloom things to be kept and handed down. So ya hoo for panels!!!!!!

I'm glad people are still adding to this thread. I have over 50 panels and want to make them into quilts that are more than just quilted panels with a border. I want to maketwin to king size out of them.

I saw these pillow panels and decided it would be the perfect Christmas present for my brother. I'm just making it up as I go. Hopefully I'll have something figured out before Christmas.
