What kind of water is best for Rowenta Iron???

I switch back and forth between tap water and then bottled water. I've never had a leak in my Rowenta and no build up of any deposits. I do a couple times per year put vinegar and water in it to clean it. If you have well water, I suggest you use distilled or bottled water.

No water at all. I have had 3 Rowentas followed the instructions to a tee. The oldest one I am still using, but not with water. They all started leaking and spitting in less than a year. They also lost there heat after awhile. I buy the less expensive irons on the market, such as Sunbeam, Black and decker for around $35.00 they are 5 years old and still going strong. I no longer use steam, I will spritz the fabric with a spray bottle then iron or press if it needs it.

I have read several posts that say don't use steam to press your blocks. Steam can stretch the fabric and distort the block. I use spray starch if I need it and only use a dry iron. Have had better luck with my blocks since doing it this way. Hope this helps. Can't hurt to try this once or twice.

I only used distilled in my two rowentas. Both got leaks. I have no clue how using distilled water can cause a leak in an iron.
I now use a spray bottle and in that I use distilled water.
I'm a cheap person though - I just boil my own water, let it cool over night and use that instead of buying distilled.
