I just got the flu shot Saturday. I get it every year and haven't gotten the flu since I started - many years ago.

Yes, I get a flu shot. I'm an at risk person with diabetes and breathing problems. I take the generic version of Mucinex and Robitussin. I'm just getting over a chest congestion. My doctor prescribed the 5 day antibiotic plus the over the counter medications plus 1 cup of yogurt a day. I make chicken noodle cup of soup or Campbell's chicken noodle soup depending on my appetite which is very poor right now. I also use Vick's or a generic chest rub if I know I'll be staying indoors. Drink plenty of clear fluids. Don't hesitate going to the doctor's because once it gets a hold of you, it is hard to get rid of. Good luck!

I always get a flu shot because I spend time with small children and the elderly who are so susceptible to any kind of respiratory illness.

Best cure.... chicken soup, cup of tea and sleep when ever I want. But on the other hand I have not been ill for several years. When I start feeling yucky, I dive into bed, under the electric blanket and sleep it off. It works for me!

Flu shot every year since I got the flu about 10 years ago--I still remember how horrible I felt. I've since developed asthma so I wouldn't consider missing the shot. I've also had the pneumonia vaccine. I never get colds but allergies get me, especially the cedar here in the hill country. I have been able to keep sinus infections and the worst allergy symptoms at bay since I started using saline nasal and sinus washes.

Nope, no flu shot for me. I would much prefer to let my body develop antibodies against any illness that comes our way---that is what your body is supposed to do.
One year, I was the only nurse in the doctor's office where I worked who REFUSED (they almost made me sign a release form) to get the flu shot. ALL others got the shot including the doctors. I also was the ONLY ONE that year who did not get sick. I am not going to inject those foreign bodies into my body nor those of my family.

I got a flu shot this year - first one ever. I am 63 and in good health. I had the shot 4 days ago and the only reaction has been slight tenderness and redness in the shot area. I am hoping that it will keep the flu away.
