Prayers going out to your family. In 1986 my dad died and had been in and out of the hospital several times. I took the pj's that he had and made my mother a quilt for Christmas that year. Also, last year my father-in-law passed away and I took his western shirts and made a quilt out of them. My mom gave me the quilt back that I had made for her last year and now I have 2 quilts that are made from 2 special people that were in our lives.

My sympathy to you and your family at this time, but be comforted in knowing the quilts are appreciated, and will be loved by your sister who wants teh family tree quilt - gives you a warm fuzzy feeling that she wants it and loves your hard work you put into it!

I too made a quilt for my DM a few years ago even though she was in a nursing home w/Alzheimers. She passed this spring and my DB sent me the quilt. I really enjoy using it and remembering the love I felt for my DM as I made the quilt...

I am sorry about your mothers passing. I too lost my mother at a young age, both she, 67 and myself, 30. It will be hard for a awhile, but soon more joy and fond memories will cloud the pain and agony she may have endured in her illness.
What a joy to have the quilts to share. May both of you spend many hours wrapped in teh quilts you made for your mom out of love.

My condolences for the loss of your Mother. I lost my Mom in January and I'm still grieving. I also made my Mom a lap quilt that she used every day and was returned to me and will always be treasured because she loved it so much.
