As far as reality TV goes, I like to watch "worst cooks of America" but that's about it. The commercial interruptions about the other shows are enough to let me know that I will not watch these people (whoever they are).

Two things I dislike garbage and dirty laundry !and thats what I think of those shows. When I see the ads or mistakenly flip to the show , I automatically think about moms advice " Don't air your dirty laundry in public and the Don Henley song Dirty Laundry. Not to hijack the thread, but anyone grossed out with the Huggies commercial that is a cartoon and is about a diaper filling contest.? Crude and Rude

"Reality Shows" are somebody's fantasy that makes big bucks and that is the bottom line. That type of "entertainment" insults the intelligence of people in the real world.

I do not watch any reality shows. I think they are a total waste of time, money & talent.

I never bother with them because most are about people who haven't got a life but think we should be interested in their "no Life" enough to watch. Apparently their are enough people who have no lives also and find these shows comforting...Oh, well as my mom used to say, "there's a cover for every pot and a pot for every cover."

I got rid of cable TV in 1993--as a single mother with little income, I could not afford it. My children were 12 and 8 and thought the world would end! We were always SO BUSY with other interests: READING, MUSIC AND SPENDING TIME OUTSIDE for them; READING, CRAFTING, SEWING, QUILTING, GARDENING AND MUSIC for me, we really never missed it (took about 10 days for the children to miss it). They are now 31 and 27. Both, when in college, thanked me for getting rid of cable TV. We still have video players and watch what we choose and like.

Just a little more: My children learned how to focus on the REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS in life. My son had 2 masters degrees, has studied in Austria and Germany for 7 summers, taught in Austria 1 summer and studied at the Kodaly Institute in Hungary 1 summer (the only student there accepted from the U.S.) He is now getting his doctorate in music at LSU. My daughter graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2010 with a masters degree and is presently a college professor; heading for doctoral degree in fall 2012.
