I got it!!!!! Some of the fabric is stretchy. Boy can that be a downer. When I first started out quilting, I thought fabric was fabric and added to my stash 'just because it was pretty and I liked it.' Well some of it shrank after being ironed. Some patches didn't fit correctly.I didn't know quite why at the time, so some of these items were set aside. Now as I am looking back; I still like the pattern, like the colors I chose, but not that fabric that isn't 100% cotton.I really enjoy working with it. Another thing realized is recycling fabric [shirts, dresses, blouses, ect ] takes a long time; searching for just the right piece, cutting apart, stitching, can't always be done yesterday. Like going out and purchasing fabric ready to sew; [if you don't prewash].
You're top is wonderful, Please continue. I love, love love it!
Take a look at 'Bonnie K. Hunter' quilters site. There are several scrappy quilts and recycling ideas. She also has books for sale.
