I'm not savy at FMQ so I can't really tell you what to do quilting-wise. I know if it were mine what I'd like to maybe do, but what I want and what I can do are entirely 2 different things!
I'm so not good at it, I still got puckers in it when I spray basted it all together! So, don't listen to me.

your quilt is so cute !! great work, i would do some FMQ in the background behind the cottages just some meandering,
i use Steam a Sean 2 for my appliques and love it , they sell it at joanns ,handcocks, walmart, plenty of places , i ordered a roll of it from joann fabris online and used my coupon

Those cottages are adorable. I would squiggle the background around them.

I love your cottages....when the pattern is this nice, I like think less quilting, so as not to compete with the cuteness.

I think you're smart to do stich in the ditch...I've done quite a bit of applique, and always use that as I want the appliques to shine! Love the little cottages!

Default now it is done !!

hi everyone!
i posted a while back on how to quilt my first appliqued wall hanging. it is the 2nd thing i have quilted and you all gave me such wonderful advice. i am feeling good that i finished it. i used my seam ripper way more than my machine. i tried to quilt with a varigated thread and tore it out and did use it in the green sashing. i tried a starburstbut really wasn't sure if that is what i quilted around the cabins. i did a little stippling on the lavender window and straight lines on the purple window sills which was definatly the easiest. there are many mistakes i can see but if you all want to point out mistakes i would be happy if you did as i am trying to learn on my own. it took me a long time. my eye is not the best so i am a really slow sewer!! thank you all so much for your wonderful advice and help.
oh - i stitched in the ditch at every seam and around the house and bushes, doors and windows.

quilt a pillow - i did use white in the bobbin on the back which was purple and the quilting showed . straight lines are ok but my attempt at stippling - well good thing i used the lavender thread on the front. forgot to take a pic of the back and my quilt hanger-holder (hubby) is gone for the day.
