What a wonderful story. You are truly blessed that your sister thinks so highly of your quilts. It always gave me a lift when I would see a quilt I had made draped over the back of a chair, couch or on a bed, saying "I love you" without words. When my son left home he carried with him a quilt I had made him when he was about 12 or 13, that quilt went everywhere he went, even the times he "rebounded" home and when he left again. It just makes my heart glad. To those who don't appreciate your quilts - do not make them another one - ever.

NICE! here's my story. I camp every year and have met quite a few couples that stay all summer too. A few years ago I started giving them all quilts. about 5 each summer. This past winter I heard thru my sister (someone messaged her on facebook) that no one likes me and that I only gave them quilts to try to buy their friendship. I hold one lady responsible for turning them all against me as she doesn't like me and she was my sister's best friend. I was so hurt that I wrote to all of them and said I thought they were my friends already and I didn't think I needed to buy them. I'm so hurt that I haven't given out anymore and probably won't even though I had about 4 more to give. Now they won't even look my way when I pass or talk to me because of the letter. I'm really hurt by all of this but don't know what to do. Thanks for letting me vent.

I feel the pain you felt. I am FMQ'ing a large quilt for my daughter. It has the tucks and long stitches too. She loves it already. This business of learning to FMQ has a huge learning curve. Each quilt I do gets a little better. Just hope I live long enough to finally master the skill!!

I have a wool afghan made in1976 or thereabouts, of 4-ply worsted wool in afghan stitch. VERY HEAVY. VERY WARM. I use it almost every day in fall winter and spring, and sometimes even in summer. It shows no signs of wear.
