    Default Dr. Who"s Quilt!!

Are you a fan of the BBC series Dr. Who? He is a "Time Lord" that travels the universe, and uses a police box he calls a TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimentions In Space) for his time machine. My daughter and I designed and made this TARDIS quilt for her future husband, who is an avid Dr. Who fan! We used ombre' solids to create the dimensional effect of the door, then I quilted wood-grain into the door panels. His reaction - "I'm totally geeking out right now!" In other words, he LOVES it!

I am making one for my son for his birthday this weekend. I hope I can at least get the top done. How did you do the lettering on the window? I love this. Absolutely amazing!

Thanks 4boys! We used Google to find the images of both the header and the window and printed them off, then we enlarged or reduced to make it fit. We used fusible web to adhere the police box letters, and my daughter machine blanket-stitched around each letter. For the window, my daughter traced the words and embroidered with black DMC floss (backstitch and satin stitch).
