The whole reason quilt stores make samples is so people copy them!

Having samples out sells a lot more fabric (because people want to make the same quilt) than just having the patterns out.

H.S. is such a beautiful block and makes a gorgeous two-color quilt. I say use what you've got - it's not the same as the quilt shop fabric so it will look different and beautiful on its own. If that's what you want - just do it! (thanks to Nike for that last phrase!).
